Innovating to Succeed in a New Global Market

16th annual conference - Hilton Montréal Bonaventure Hotel - June 7 to 10, 2010

At the dawn of a recovery which is still fragile, a new economic order is setting in. It is bringing us face to face with major changes that will force us to innovate to an extensive degree to ensure a return to sustainable growth. This new economic order, which is coming at a time when the world is increasingly multi-polarized, is also demanding that we work within a globalized market which is in the throes of great change, fifteen years after the creation of the WTO and some nine years after the initiation of the Doha Round.

With this year’s central theme, “Innovating to Succeed in a New Global Market,” the International Economic Forum of the Americas / Conference of Montreal wishes to focus on the need to find new methods of practice to ensure that the return to growth can rely on a global market adapted to the world’s new sociopolitical realities and which adheres to the principles of openness and fairness, an essential basis for the shift to a global economy.

I wish to thank our partners and sponsors, who made this 16th edition possible. We expect to welcome some 3,000 participants from the business world, the public sector, academia and civil society. They will have access to privileged strategic information delivered by eminent speakers from every part of the world, and will have an opportunity to develop new business contacts that will help them succeed in a global market which has become both demanding and stimulating.

I look forward to seeing you this 7 to 10 June at the Hilton Montréal Bonaventure Hotel for the 16th edition of International Economic Forum of the Americas / Conference of Montreal
