The Foundation For The Next Era of Growth

The Foundation For The Next Era of Growth

20th Conference of Montreal - June 9-12, 2014

The 20th Conference of Montreal, scheduled for June 2014, will take place at a pivotal moment for the global economy. The G7 meeting in Brussels will just have taken place on June 4 and 5; that, coupled with the most recent economic data and the fallout from the situation in Ukraine will enable Conference participants to better grasp a global economic recovery that, while still tentative, seems to be well under way.

This is why the Board of Governors decided on “The Foundation for the Next Era of Growth” as the theme for the Conference’s 20th anniversary. It seems we can no longer govern our countries and our corporations according to the model that prevailed before the 2008 crisis. This new cycle of economic globalization must therefore be built on a different foundation, one that will guarantee a more resilient, more inclusive and more sustainable world economy.

There are over 3,000 participants registered for the Conference of Montreal’s 20th anniversary edition, where some 180 speakers from every region of the world will present important and relevant information. As in years past, the Conference will organize networking sessions where participants can discuss business and politics and make valuable contacts.

It is therefore my pleasure to welcome you, from June 9 to 12, to this very special anniversary of the Conference of Montreal, under the theme “The Foundation for the Next Era of Growth.”
