The Path to Economic Growth

3rd annual conference - Palm Beach County Convention Center - April 8 & 9, 2013

Five years after the Great Recession, the global economy is showing signs of a moderate return to growth, leaving business and government leaders at a critical juncture of decision-making. What direction should the path to growth take? How can governments achieve a balance between austerity and stimulus? What global risks should business leaders be prepared to navigate? How can regulators achieve a safer financial architecture without stifling economic momentum? Could the spectre of protectionism and competing national monetary policies increase the risk of “currency wars”? In a post-Doha context, what shape will the dominant trade routes of the future take? How will Asia’s soft landing impact global demand for commodities? On the energy front, how will the shale boom and investment in renewable resources drive optimism toward self sufficiency? What types of strategic investment in infrastructure should influence the path to growth? These are some of the issues that will be discussed between global leaders at the third annual edition of the Palm Beach Strategic Forum.
