Michel Brunet is currently the Chair of the firm FMC Law, a position he has held since 2006. As Chair, Michel’s role is to represent the firm externally with clients, the community and the public at large. With more than 35 years of experience in corporate and commercial law and in-depth expertise in securities law, Michel has recognized expertise in public offering, public financings and major infrastructure projects as well as in the sale and acquisition of business corporations. In this context, Michel acted as counsel to many public, state-owned and private corporations in various areas. He also acted for the Autorité des marchés financiers and the Department of Justice (Quebec) as their delegate at the Hague Conference in connection with the negotiations of an international treaty on the settlement of transactions involving intermediated securities. Michel has held several high management positions with Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP, including Managing Partner of the Montreal office and National Chief Executive Officer. Michel is a member of the International Association of Lawyers (UIA) and Governor of the Jeune Chambre de commerce de Montréal (Young Board of Trade of Montreal).
