Varelie Croes is a strategist and founder of The Liv Group, a New York venture studio. The Liv Group engages in strategic international projects and investments that drive economic transformation by means of innovation and entrepreneurship. Varelie applies a “360 hands-on” approach to innovation that helps forward-thinking organizations stay ahead of the curve in the internet-of-everything age.
Varelie is also an innovation ecosystem expert, she is on the founding team of several tech startups and leads numerous economic development / policy initiatives. An island native, Varelie co-founded Startup Aruba and ATECH to develop the startup ecosystem in the Caribbean. ATECH hosts an annual conference (top 15 innovation events in the world ~ Forbes) and incubator program.
She was named a global change-maker by the World Bank Youth Steering Committee for her unique approach to leadership and inspiring both entrepreneurs and policy makers to drive change.
As a Private Equity and Growth Equity expert with over a decade of experience in Financial Services, Varelie has spearheaded billion dollar global deals and worked with several of the world’s largest investment funds and Fortune 100 companies. Prior to founding The Liv Group, Varelie has had a distinguished career as Director of International Tax Financial Services at PricewaterhouseCoopers New York.
Varelie is an accomplished keynote speaker and sought after thought-leader on startup ecosystems and the innovation economy. She has spoken at TEDx, United Nations, The World Bank, and has been featured in Forbes, MasterCard Biz, Tech.Co, Inc.com, and other major international publications.
