Annual Event Also Brings Together More than 40 Notable Canadian Expat Business Leaders to Showcase Canadian Leadership Abroad
TORONTO – Business leaders, decision makers, government representatives and heads of state will gather in Toronto from December 10-12, 2018 to discuss how organizations can thrive in a new era of immense economic and social transformation. The 12th edition of the International Economic Forum of the Americas’ (IEFA) Toronto Global Forum focuses on the theme of “Navigating a World in Disruption.”
The Forum aims to generate practical solutions for how local and international economies can succeed while much of the world grapples with political upheaval and reactive populism and protectionism.
The Toronto Global Forum, presented by Cogeco Peer 1, will bring together more than 170 speakers and 3,000 delegates representing more than 65 countries, to discuss some of the biggest issues facing economies around the world, including fintech, blockchain and banking, anticipating cyber risk, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, transport options for the future, nuclear energy innovation, and the new cannabis economy.
This year’s Toronto Global Forum also welcomes back the 2nd edition of the Canadian Expat Summit. The program brings together more than 50 Canadian expat leaders from 4 different continents to share their expertise with attendees included invited post-secondary students. Through moderated roundtables, expat leaders will discuss their personal experiences and share best practices for pursuing careers beyond Canada’s borders.

The annual event goes virtual to bring the world’s leading experts together over three days
TORONTO, October 20, 2020 – The Toronto Global Forum is uniting some of the world’s top legislators, politicians, economists, Fortune 500 CEOs and industry experts together online for an impactful discussion on the major challenges facing the economy in these unprecedented times. This year’s program, which runs from October 26th to 28th, 2020, focuses on the theme “Forging a Resilient Economy” and will include enlightening discussions on the global recovery, sustainable investing, the digital economy, and the future of healthcare, education and employment. Now in its 14th year, the 2020 edition of the Toronto Global Forum will be the first virtual iteration of the highly-anticipated event.
The Toronto Global Forum is organized by the International Economic Forum of the Americas (IEFA). Virtual attendees will have the opportunity to witness in real time the comments and perspectives that will make headlines and trend on social media. The IEFA event platform will also provide an array of networking opportunities including information kiosks, media outreach and meetings between delegates and speakers.
